In 2010, after operating the Lucky Simmental Bull sale for 25 years, Danny and Loretta decided that they should consider retiring from the business. It was then that the Eagle-Ridge herd was graciously sold to Beechinor Bros. Simmentals. 2010 was a very important transition time for Eagle-Ridge Simmentals. Danny just couldn’t part with the beautiful , Fleckvieh replacement heifers that fall and so he decided to keep them all.
At the same time Dallas and Denny’s red purebred herd was growing into a very strong, productive one. With the new herd of full Fleck heifers brought a lot of excitement.

The well known herd sire Anchor T IMPACT continued to be used as an A.I sire to further enhance the Fleckvieh division of Eagle-Ridge. While Danny and Loretta’s passion was focused on breeding and developing premium quality Fleckvieh genetics, the McLean‘s were also striving to create red cattle that were the easy keeping kind, with exceptional milk, a moderate frame, good feet, docile temperament, strong maternal traits and good growth. All these desirable qualities were found in the IPU T - BONE son, WILSON, the new age Red Factor herd sire for Eagle-Ridge.
As the many years have passed by, a few things have remained the same for Eagle-Ridge. Cow families with consistency and longevity are a priority, and dependable herd sires are a must.
